Friday
Today I am going to use the prompt, 'I Love' throughout the post. Hoping this will take my journaling a tad deeper...list journaling seems to help with that.
Up and at em' for work again today. Got there around 6:30 to be open by 7. This is a photo of me in the front area of the shop. Notice it is still dark outside...
I love the banners and lights hanging from the ceiling.
I love all of the sweet baby items and childrens toys that are in this front area. (The back area is mostly home decor, clothing, etc...items adults would be more interested).
I love that this space has a corner for kids to play while their mamas shop and drink coffee.
I love the green + turqouise+ gray cheveron + brick + bright colors of the retail items.
(It looks a tad cluttered because our open tent sign plus outside table and chairs are still tucked inside. Don't put them out until open time)
I love the 'main' area. The coffee shop plus retail.
I love walking in here and thinking about all of the hard work that went into this.
I love the atmostphere...the lights and mini chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The tones, the backdrop of the coffee shop we painstakingly made and installed, the lamps and the lighting.
I love that I do this business with 2 of my closest friends (not that that doesn't come with challenges...)
I love the fabric banner running around the coffee shop ceiling. I made that. And I love it. I collected a lot of those ribbons, laces and trims over a long period of time and knew I would have a perfect project for them. I did.
I love that I now love espresso...
I love that I no longer have to say things like "I'd like a mocha with less coffee taste and more chocolate taste." LOL. I'm a little more educated about this coffee thing.
I love that I get to have my coffee before I open. Gets me in the mode and the caffeine helps too.
I love that we now have the caramel apple smoothie. That means fall is coming.
I love facebook...I was able to post this on our page and I love that we can get the word out about the shop in a timely, efficient, and free way.
I love that we have non-coffee drinks for those that aren't a fan.
I love the colors and the caramel swirls. Makes me happy.
I love that my work part of the day is done and I have a few minutes to sit and relax before getting kiddos from school.
I love my iced coffee. Today, a mix of hazelnut, chocolate, caramel, & vanilla.
I love all of the light that comes in from the front windows.
I love our ceilings...
I love that while I am so very tired, I am happy. But tired. : )
Getting the kiddos from school...
I love our school. We don't even live in the district, but when we moved it was so important to us that we were able to opt them in.
I love seeing my girls emerge from the lunchroom door. I do miss them during the day.
I love hearing about their day and chatting with them on the way home.
When we got home, Keaton and Mally went out to play with and feed the cats.
I love that Keaton is at that age where I can give her chores and she doesn't need help.
I love that it is Friday and the girls have no homework.
I love that we have the sweetest mama cat and her 6 babies in the garage. I am a protective mama...I won't let them out until they get a bit bigger. We have some big birds that fly around here. : )
I love my bed. And having a TV in the room. And that Annie always likes to nap with me...
I love this dog. She is the best cuddler.
I love this hammock. It gets used a lot.
I love my book club. I especially love that I finished the book a whole 3 days before we are meeting to discuss it. It is often the night before. : )
I love that this book was made into a TV series. (Although I don't love that it is rated MA, for obvious reasons).
I love Netflix, where I watched the first few episodes. I'm liking it so far (Orange is the New Black).
I love catching the girls doing their own things...
Mallory watching TV, laying the floor playing with a pillow.
Keaton making herself a snack.
I love the 'carefree-ness' of a Friday night.
I love that we have a restaurant close to get take out from. I especially love not having to cook.
I love that my hubby took care of ordering it and picking it up while I rested and read.
I love Wit's End's pizza and ancho burger. I may have eaten a little of both. : )
I love that the rest of the night was about staying home, watching TV and just chilling. On to Saturday!

A Week In The Life: Day 4
Thursday marks a new routine for me. It is work time. I co-own a coffee/retail shop in the town that we used to live in (and where our girls go to school). We are open Thursday, friday, and Saturday (will expand hours in September for fall/winter), and even though there are 2 other owners, I generally am the one working as they have jobs. I love, love, love this shop. There is a great history behind it all, but that is another blog post.
Because we open at 7 and I have a half hour drive and prep, I have to be up by around 4:30. Snoozed a couple times this am, but got everything open in plenty of time. Before getting ready, I baked the rolls. Everything else was done the night before.
Then got ready and was on my way.
Caught this beautiful sky as I was getting into Blue Hill.
I got everything opened and ready to go. Some photos of me making a drink...pulling an espresso shot, etc.
Yum.
It actually was an unusually slow day. It was steady, but I did not get my normal rush. So, while I was there from 6am-2pm, I took some selfies and other shots around the shop.
I always make myself an iced coffee while cleaning up. Just a thing. : )
After I closed up, I ran a couple errands...to the Post Office and to the bank. Then, I ate a late gas station lunch in my car. Fun times. : )
I picked the girls up from school at 3:30 and then took them both to get their hair trimmed. Mally went short, Keaton just trimmed and shaped. I love that we have this awesome business in a town this size. They do hair, nails, massages, and even have a tanning bed.
After Mally was done, she made everyone laugh by making funny faces through their door. Funny girl.
After I paid ($30 plus $10 tip) and purchased some anti lice shampoo and conditioner for $45 (so expensive, but we already have lice in our school...yuk!), we headed next door to the grocery store to get the girls a snack and be on our way home.
After we got home, I went outside where it was a gorgeous 85 degrees and laid on the hammock. I listened to a Paperclipping Roundtable. Annie joined me. : )
The rest of the evening has been here at my computer. We all chilled at home, I am about to head to bed early to get up bright and early again!
On to Friday, sweet Friday!

A Week in the Life: Day 3
Hello Wednesday!
Woke up to this beautiful sight this AM. You can always tell when fall is coming. Our sunrises and sunsets become absolutely gorgeous.
Mallory wanted a bun in her hair this morning. Usually the girls just want their hair brushed and down. But Mally had asked me last night if I'd specifically put her hair in a bun.
Keaton all ready to go and taking care of the cats. She loves hoodies. It has been chilly in the mornings all of this week so both girls had to wear layers.
The girls all ready to get on the road. Cassy was driving both ways today so I just had to get them to her corner.
I've been doing this quite a bit so far this week--taking photos of my car screen when our favorite songs come on. I think in my album, I may print out the words of the songs. I also like that I catch the temp. Brrr...Blessings by Laura Story is one of our all time faves. Both girls have it memorized and can sing it beautifully. Has had some major meaning in my life as well.
When I got home, I showered and of course, put on the slippers. Love these gold ones.
I unloaded the dishwasher and cleaned up some dishes.
And since the last of the laundry was finished and folded...time to put the clothes away. I'll be honest, hate this part. Keaton's goes back into her hamper and I set it by the basement door so she can take it down and put her clothes away. Mally and I take turns putting hers away. I sort all of the clean clothes by type into piles and then put it all away. Same with me and Dan's clothes.
A quick shot of Mallory's room clean and somewhat tidy. Love her room. So girly, sparkly, happy. : )
And a laundry free, temporarily dirty-dish free kitchen. I need a clean kitchen or everything just feels off.
And some random selfies of me being happy that all the laundry is put away. : )
It is so nice outside so I decide to take Annie for a walk. She knows right away. Even before I grab the leash. She can literally tell by my shoes and when I put my earphones in.
She is a crazy dog to take on a walk. She literally takes me for the walk. She get so excited. She calms down over time, but man she loves it. I listened to a Debbie Hodge podcast while I walked and took a bunch of photos...
Annie pulling me...
Some selfies of me in front of our house...
Some of the beautiful wildflowers that I get to enjoy...(first photo is our leaves starting to change...yay!!!)
Corn. Lots of corn.
Real close to our house is a minimum maintenance road that we like to walk. It is beautiful...we have another about a mile away that is awesome too. People literally drive to this road to walk it. But this one is closer and the trek Annie and I did today. There are some ponds...and cows. I decided to turn around when we got to a group of cows near the fence that all started to get up when we got close. I did not feel like starting a stampede...
We can see our house from this road. Love this, these are the first photos I've taken of our home from this view. Need to take some with my good camera...
It was a lovely walk, and I am pretty sure Annie was ready to get home. she was thirsty!
When we got home, Annie hydrated, and I chopped up some fruit to make a fruit salad. Pineapple, peaches and grapes. I normally do pineapple, strawberries, blueberries and grapes, but switched it up this time.
Did a little more work, gotta hang with the hubby for a bit.
Then, I decided to lay down for a little while. I watched some vintage Beverly Hills 90210 and rested for a bit (yep, that is Dylan and Kelly!). : )
Left around 3:50 to get the girlies at the corner. Annie is always excited when they are home.
Snack time and then all settled in for the remainder of the evening. I have been craving cucumber salsa lately, so I made that. Mallory actually like it too.
Dan was out for the afternoon/evening, so we all kind of snacked and ate leftovers for supper.
Keaton, as usual, hung out in her room...
Mallory played outside, watched some TV, and played Anna from Frozen...
I did some scrapbooking, prepped food for the shop for the morning, drank some hot tea in front of a beautiful sunset, then got a wonderful good night hug from my girls. (Early bedtime since have to work in the morning...4:30 wake up!)
Have I mentioned lately I love my life?
I really, really do.
And Oreos.
